Since today's blog hop is all about sequins, I really wanted to let them shine, so I created a shaker scrapbook page! I love creating shaker cards and thought it would be a lot of fun to do for a scrapbook.

I created this heart cut file in the Procreate app and then transferred it into my silhouette software and cut it out. It was definitely tedious to get the foam behind the thin lines of the hearts but it was worth it! I love how this turned out!

To let the sequins really be the star of the show, I keep embellishments simple, as well as the title. A thin wood veneer and stamp, in my opinion, were the perfect title for this page. I love the "perfectly imperfect" stamp.

Since the page was very center focused, I added a small piece of washi tape and chipboard sticker to add a little something extra to the page.

In these last two photos, you can really see how gorgeous these sequins are! I love the colors and while I used three different packs, they all work together so well! I'm not going to lie, it was hard to use so many sequins on one page since I am a sequin hoarder, but I think the end product made it worth it. I couldn't be happier with this page!

A simple blue striped boarder and this page is all finished! I hope you love this as much as I do!

You can also enter for the chance to win a $10.00 shop credit by simply leaving a comment on on the blogs! You have until September 6th to enter. Flashback Friday #1 - Let's Go

August 24, 2016

Hey everyone! I have quite a few scrapbook/Project Life pages that have never made it to my blog whether it may have been because they were posted on another blog or just because I never got around to photographing them, so I have decided to create a series on my blog called Flashback Friday. Every other Friday, I will be sharing a project that I made a while ago that I've never posted on my blog. I am very excited to share these projects with you!

For my first Flashback Friday, I will be sharing this scrapbook page which was actually the first time I did mixed media. I remember not really liking it when I first created it but now, I love it!

The photo is from when I was in Charleston, August last year, and this was the view from the pier. It was a gorgeous pier with beautiful views of the water! I have great memories on this pier and so many wonderful photos, especially at sun set.

Puffy stickers are probably my second favorite embellishments and this "let's go" cloud just fit so well with the photo! Of course I had to add some enamel dots for some interest and this was my first time using glitter enamel dots and I really love how they look on this page.

My number one favorite embellishments are flairs. They are just so gorgeous and add great dimension  to everything.
I don't often use frames but I do like how this frame worked with the photo. The text on the frame didn't really go with the photo so I decided covered it up with a wood veneer star and I love how it looks.

Here you can see some of that watercoloring I did as well as splatters. I wasn't quite sure what I was doing but I think it actually turned out quite nicely!

That is all for my first Flashback Friday! I hope you liked it and I can't wait to share more projects with you in the future!

Saying Goodbye To Gus

July 26, 2016

Today's scrapbook page is one with a lot of meaning. On the 16th, we had to put our cat, Gus, down which was very hard. He was 16 years old and had only recently gotten sick. He had diabetes but earlier this month he started having a lot of trouble breathing, so the vet treated him for an upper respiratory infection but it only got worse. When they did X-Rays they saw that his heart was enlarged and he had fluid in his lungs. At that point, we knew the right thing to do was to put him down.

12x12 Scrapbook Pages

July 10, 2016

Hey everyone, I'm so sorry for being so absent on my blog. My health has kind of been all over the place but I think things are finally looking up.

So today I am sharing two 12x12 scrapbook pages I've created. Usually when I create traditional pages, they are 8.5x11 or 9x12 so doing this size was a little intimidating but I love how both of these pages turned out!

This scrapbook page was created for a challenge by Felicity Jane on National Scrapbook Day and I love it! I do feel like I could have added some more embellishments but apart form that, I love everything.

The tag that is sticking out has some journaling on it. Hidden journaling is definitely my favorite because I'm not the biggest fan of my handwriting.
When going through embellishments, I found enamel dots that had the perfect colors for this layout and I think they look great in this little cluster.

At the bottom of the page, I used a Felicity Jane stamp as well as some more hexagon cut outs and enamel dots. I think it filled in that blank space nicely.

This scrapbook page is probably my favorite one I've created. I love the bright colors and florals, it all just screams "Alex". This photo is from 2014 when I had a photoshoot done by Flashes Of Hope. They do free photoshoots for chronically and terminally ill children and young adults. I had also gotten a photoshoot by them the year before. They are amazing and make you feel so comfortable.

Here is a little close up and you can see some of the smaller details. I love the title "smile & laugh" and although that wasn't what I intended to title this page, it just came together so well.
All of the papers I used are by Felicity Jane and most of the embellishments are by Crate Paper, another one of my favorite brands!

On the bottom left of this layout, I used some washi tape from my stash and layered a little tag which came from a cut-apart sheet from Felicity Jane. The stamped phrase is also from a Felicity Jane stamp set.

I added some more floral pieces at the top as well as some "+" signs from a Crate Paper sticker set. The colors matched this layout so well and just added a little more interest to the page.

That is all for my 12x12 scrapbook pages and I hope you enjoyed them! I will be posting more often now that I am feeling more like myself. I can't wait to share some more projects!

Health Update

Hey everyone! I'm sure you have all noticed how absent I've been on my blog and how I haven't been posting much on Instagram. I thought it would be a good idea to give you all an update.

Gossamer Blue - April Reveal

April 01, 2016

Hey everyone! Today is reveal day over at Gossamer Blue and the April kits are amazing! I have a few projects to share with you and I hope you like them!

First, I have this project life spread. I am using 9x12 pages which I created using design A page protectors and my fuse tool.

I really love the colors in this spread and I actually used a mix of past kits as well as the April Life Pages kit. The embellishments this month were absolutely stunning! Here, you can see 3 stickers from the Maggie Holmes Bloom 6x12 Puffy Stickers which was included in the Main Add-on kit. This was by far my favorite kit!

The stamp sets were also stunning, not much of a surprise there. ;) The stamp sets area always my favorite parts of the kits! The designs are so simple and can be used for anything. I love that they aren't themed like some other subscription kits out there. They are also great quality and you will always get great results.

For my other projects, I created a couple of cards! They were super easy and were put together so quickly, but they still look gorgeous.
This first card is just so cute, if I may say so myself. The plants are from a pack of die cuts by Pebbles which is included in the Main kit. The "bloom" is from the Maggie Holmes 6x12 stickers and I love how well it matches the plants. The strip on the side was created with on of the stamps in the Life Pages kit. I had to stamp it twice but it lined up perfectly.

Here, you can see what parts I popped up with foam squares. I decided to a small piece to the top of the plant in the back just to make pop a bit more. Adding dimension on cards can make such a big difference.

For this card, I used the stamp set from last much and repeatedly stamped the word "happy" to create a background. I then cut some patterned paper from the Main kit to create a tag. I then punched a hole, added embroidery thread and added the gorgeous butterfly sticker. This card is so simple but I absolutely love how it turned out.

Here is a close up of the butterfly.

That is it for today. I hope you like these projects and be sure to head over to the Gossamer Blue site and check out all of the kits!

Gossamer Blue - March Reveal

March 01, 2016

I swear I say this every month but I can't believe it is already March! Time just flies by these days.
Of course, it being the first day of the month, that means it is reveal day over at the Gossamer Blue website! These kits are absolutely stunning and are probably my favorite kits ever!

My first, and probably favorite project, is my planner dashboard! This Maggie Holmes paper and ephemera are just too cute together!

Here is a close up of the ephemera cluster. I love the light colors with the pops of bright yellow! I actually wasn't sure if I was going to use this paper but it probably ended up being my most used paper.

In the top pockets, I added some of the labels included in the Life Pages kit which, when cut down to 3 labels, fit perfectly. I also added that cute tag just for some decoration.
One of my favorite things in all of the kits are the C'est La Vie washi tape which were included in the Life Pages Themed add-on. The whole C'est La Vie collection is just absolutely stunning.

For the bottom pockets, I just decorated them with some Maggie Holmes floral ephemera which came in the Bits & Pieces kit. Of course, I needed a bit more gold, so I added these gold alphas behind the washi tapes.

Another fun project I made were these boxes! My mom recently got me the We R Memory Keepers 1-2-3 Punch Board and it can do so much.

The largest box was created with the textured, white cardstock which came in the Main kit. For the bow as well as the other boxes, I used paper from the C'est La Vie paper pad and they turned out so cute! These would be great for giving little gifts!

That is it for today! I had so much fun creating with the March Gossamer Blue kits and I know they will continue to be used for quite a while!

Gossamer Blue - February Reveal

February 01, 2016

Wow! February already? I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels as though time is flying by. If you are a GB lover, then you know that it is reveal day!
As a Project Lifer, I can't say enough good things about the Life Pages kits this month! The cards were gorgeous, we got fun embellishments, and the stamps are back!

Here is a spread I creating using the LP kits. When you have great products, spreads come together so easily, like this one.

I loved how all of the colors complimented each other and how well most of them went with my photos!

I also really loved the enamel embellishments by Hiedi Swapp and Fancy Pants Designs that we got in the kits this month.
Speaking of embellishments, they are also great for creating planner accessories! I have only recently gotten into the planner obsession and I wanted to make some things for myself.
So all I did was get some paper clips and I attached the various embellishments to them with adhesive! Now I have some very cute paperclips to use in my planner.

Be sure to check out all of the February kits over at Gossamer Blue!

Gossamer Blue January Blog Hop

January 15, 2016

Hi everyone! It is blog hop day over at Gossamer Blue and today I am sharing these little envelopes I made.

We got some really gorgeous paper in this month's kits and while on Pinterest, I came across a tutorial for these envelopes. There are many tutorials for these and, the best part, they are super easy!

I thought about leaving them blank but they were just asking to be embellished! I decided to use some Heidi Swapp products and I love how they turned out!

For the enclosure, I used the buttons which were included in the Main Add-on kit as well as some embroidery thread which came from my stash. I popped the buttons up on a piece of foam tape so I could wrap the thread around it and then I was done!
These are a super quick and adorable project! You can add photos, notes, maybe even other embellishments in them and give them to other people.

I hope you like these quick and easy envelopes and I will see you next time! Be sure to check out everyone else's posts for the GB blog hop!

Gossamer Blue - January Reveal

January 01, 2016

Happy New Year everyone!! I cannot believe we are already in 2016! I hope this year brings all of you health and happiness!

Today is also reveal day for the January GB kits and I must say, these kits are definitely my favorite so far! Today I have a few cute and colorful projects I created with these kits and I'm very excited to share!

First off, I created a couple of cards with the Main kit and the Life Pages kit.
This shaker card didn't turn out how I expected, like a lot of things I create, but I really love it! I planned on using the other side of this paper which was red with white hearts but I liked the more subtle pattern so I decided to go with that. I cut the paper to an A2 card size (5.5x4.25) and used a circle die to cut a circle in the middle.
